Educational policy makes me want to squeal with joy. This week my post at the ol’ Issues and Perspectives blog deals with banned books. Take a gander if that sort of thing is your bag.

At American Science & Surplus in Milwaukee. We’re doomed. DOOOOOOOMED!

Three months ago I was driving down H26 towards Milton, WI when I came across an abandoned bar. I took a walk around the bar and found a window open. I didn’t have a flashlight, but I could see that the floor was a little unsteady. No one else was with me and I didn’t want to risk it. One of the cardinal rules of Urban Exploration is to never go alone. I once almost fell three stories checking out a brewery alone in Germany, so I wasn’t going to risk falling again. This weekend I went back with Kaela in tow. Everything in the kitchen is now falling through the floor. Most of the pictures I snapped did not turn out due to poor lighting, but there were a few good ones.

As part of my LIBMEDIA 638 class I had to produce a tech skills screencast. I settled on cropping an image with iPhoto. If you’ve got four minutes and time to kill, by all means have a look.

An ugly statue of Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli. Too bad there are no sharks in the Milwaukee River to jump over.

I wasn’t going to post my work for my Issues, Perspectives and Directions in Education course this week because I really struggled with it. But apparently it struck a chord with some of the classmates. Skip over the parts where I summarize the three articles if you do read it.

This photo has not been doctored. Each half of this cheeseburger from Solly’s in Milwaukee is covered in butter. Thanks to Drew for the clogged arteries.
