
In March 2025 the second iteration of the Wisconsin state bird started flocking to Little Free Libraries.
The updated model demonstrates the progress of multi-color capable 3D printers. The original Mini WIng model was made with a $2,600 printer capable of two colors. It was also frequently mistaken for an oriole.
Consisting of three colors this version is the most time consuming version to create. At a minimum a single model takes three hours to print with all of the filament changes. By printing three on a plate, that extends to three hours and forty five minutes with the same number of filament changes.
