Ken Strikes Back: Episode V

A while back I published the soundtrack to the movie about my life aptly entitled “Ken Strikes Back.” The last song on that soundtrack was Wilson Philips “Hold On,” hinting at a possible sequel. I am proud to announce today that a sequel is in production as we speak. Ken Strikes Back: Episode V, though only the second film in the series, is the fifth chapter of a much larger story. Because of this the first movie entitled Ken Strikes Back will be retroactively titled “Ken Strikes Back: Episode IV.” Here is the soundtrack for the chapters of upcoming film.

  1. Picked a Fight with God – Carl Orff “Carmina Burana”
  2. The Resurrection – Marilyn Manson “Antichrist Superstar”
  3. He’s a Vampire – Rod Stewart “Forever Young”
  4. Right Decisions This Time – Run, Lola, Run “Casino”
  5. 123 Kilos of Crack –  NIN “The Perfect Drug”
  6. I’m Tony Montana – Harry Belafonte “Jump in the Line”
  7. God the 80’s Sucked – Falco “Rock Me Amadeus”
  8. It was all a dream… – Bach “Goldberg Variations”
  9. The Big Red Button – Queens of the Stoneage “Go With the Flow”
  10. God is PO’ed – KMFDM “Ultra”
  11. I’m Wayne Brady – Michael Jackson “Billy Jean”
  12. Sequel? – Haddaway “What is Love?”

Geschenk Bekommen

I put the Paypal donation button up about a month before I left for Germany not really expecting anything to come of it. I am proud to announce that I have received a notification e-mail from Paypal stating that someone had contributed to my study abroad session through the button. It is with great thanks that I accept this person’s generosity. The donation helps me defray the cost of studying in Germany. One Euro costs me approximately $1.35 US and this can cause day-to-day necessities to become quite expensive.

You too can help me during my study abroad. Paypal is safe, secure, and handles a majority of credit card transactions that take place on the internet. I receive the funds securely and immediately. You do not even need to sign up for a Paypal account to contribute.

Vielen Dank aus Marburg, Deutschland. – Ken

Mein Fahrrad, Mein Fahrrad

There are some investments in life that, for some unknown reason, end up costing you more than what you originally intended to allocate to them. Last week while riding my bike, which I had just purchased not a week before, the gear cable snapped. Since it was bought used there is no warranty.

A rather unfortunate series of events happened two days ago to my friend. While in class someone stole the seat off of his bike. He purchased a new seat that day and affixed it in place. The next night his bike was stolen from the parking structure. After he fumed about his bike gone missing, he assured me that my bike was still in the parking structure.

This morning when I mounted my bike it was clear that something was wrong. The front tire was completely flat. At first I thought that this was a mere “So ist das Leben” (Such is life) moment, but then I noticed that my small tool box on my bike was hanging open and all the spare tools missing. I inspected the other bikes on the rack and sure enough, their tires were also flat.

After class I purchased an air pump and rode my bike down to BikeMaxx in the Einkaufzentrum to be fixed. I sure as hell hope this is the last time I have to put any more money down on this thing.

Bunch of Heathens

Last night was the first time I ever danced to Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero” at Reit’s in the Marburg Oberstadt. Unfortunately the music heathens I was with were not familiar with one of the best tracks on the Footloose soundtrack. Only my British confidant Jamie appreciated the event as much as I did. By the time we got home it was 4 in the morning and 5 by the time I finally got to bed. Thank God for the N8bus and Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund.

Ü-tag + 6

I was able to talk to my neighbor Stefan who runs the internet service for my floor. For only 7 Euro I get faster internet service than at Oshkosh. I’ve begun to upload photos on Flickr and will follow it with detailed accounts later. I just had to take some time to catch up with the rest of the world.

Operation Übertaco Software

I picked up a Palm Tungsten C to handle all of my day to day organization and translation needs. It has an ultra fast 400Mhz Xscale processor, keyboard, Wi-Fi, and the best part is it is not a cell phone. It was cheap on eBay and does what I need it to do. Operation Übertaco operatives should consider installing the following apps.

Docs to Go

Documents to Go can handle all my Word, Powerpoint, and Excel documents. Comes in handy when editing this presentation on Homosexuality and High School Education. I got an A+ on this assignment.

Easy Tour is the Swiss Army Knife of travel programs. It has everything from currency conversion, size charts, English to Metric conversion, timers, clocks, and all sorts of alarms. Saves a lot of time and hassle.

Wi-Fi Where

Wi-Fi Where handles all your Wi-Fi signal locating needs. Notice all the open networks. Notice how dumb people are in labeling them. Gee… I wonder what someone could do with an open network?
