This post is for personal reference. I always forget how to mount NTFS volumes using Xubuntu Linux at work. Open the terminal and type in the following commands.
sudo fdisk -l
sudo mkdir /media/windows
sudo mount /dev/hda1 /media/windows -t ntfshda1 may be different depending on the system
Works with Xubuntu 9.0.4.
A first generation iPod donated to my collection by Kaela’s father. Holds 5gb of music and is Mac compatible only. Reviewers originally panned the iPod claiming that users would not be able to manage that much music, that $500 was too much and the music industry would never offer digital music.
Oh how they were wrong. Apple is now the leading digital music distributor.
I made Kaela a Valentine’s Day card this year.
This 1984 Apple IIe has a workstation card installed. When turned on it looks for an Appleshare Server on the network, in this case a 1991 Apple Classic.
1991 Apple Classic acting as a server for a 1988 Apple IIgs. The IIgs has no internal hard drive. Instead it looks on the network for an Appleshare server, which is the Apple Classic.
The Classic is running System 7.0.1 and Appleshare 3.0. The IIgs is booting GS/OS 6.0.1.
The back of this old Mac says “Macintosh Plus 1Mb.” The system profiler shows that there are 4mb installed. It is still quite a capable machine despite not having a hard drive.
I am diligently searching for the education market version entitled the “Macintosh ED.”
